Procedure for Severe Weather

All forthcoming scheduled individual and small group tuition is scheduled to take place as arranged, unless confirmed otherwise on this page or in an email.  There are therefore no cancellations to report at this time. Nevertheless, please check this page before you set out, and if it's cold, don't forget to tell your child to bring a pair of warm slippers!

Parking (group tuition)

As requested, to avoid (perfectly reasonable and understandable) complaints from neighbours, if you are accompanying a child attending group tuition, do not park in the avenue, but park in an adjoining street and walk on foot.  (I request all the year round that families dropping off students for group tuition do not enter the avenue at all, for the convenience of, and ease of access for our neighbours. There are plenty of spaces in Inchcape Avenue and World's End Road which have spaces which are not directly in front of houses.)

Parking (individual tuition)

If you are attending individual tuition, you may park at the top of the drive of our house, number 15, all the year round, but take care not to block access to the drive of our neighbours at number 11. However, please do not park in the avenue when there is ice or snow on the ground.  Amherst Avenue can become a skating rink in these conditions, and poses a danger to you, your child and our neighbours.

Skype

If a student isn't able to come to tuition because of severe weather, if agreed jointly in advance with a parent, a student may 'attend' her or his group or individual tutorial via a Skype link.  For this, you will need to download Skype from its website, and have a Skype username.  Please see the Skype website http://www.skype.com/en/ for further details.
